Anti-Stepp antibodies enable researchers to detect and measure the Stepp antigen in biological samples. This target is a reported synonym of the PXT1 gene, which encodes peroxisomal testis enriched protein 1. This protein is known to function in the regulation of apoptosis, among other biological roles. The human version of Stepp has a canonical amino acid length of 134 residues and a protein mass of 16 kilodaltons. It is reported to be localized in the peroxisomes of cells.
