Anti-TDH4 antibodies enable researchers to detect and measure the TDH4 antigen in biological samples. This target is a reported synonym of the IYD gene, which encodes iodotyrosine deiodinase. This protein is known to function in metabolic processes, among other biological roles. The human version of TDH4 has a canonical amino acid length of 289 residues and a protein mass of 33.4 kilodaltons, although 6 isoforms have been identified. It is reported to be localized in the cytoplasmic vesicles and cell membrane of cells and notably expressed in the small intestine and thyroid gland. TDH4 is a member of the Nitroreductase protein family.
