Anti-UQBP antibodies are protein reagents that detect specific antigens. The UQBP antigen is another term for the human protein ubiquinol-cytochrome c reductase binding protein, encoded by the UQCRB gene. The protein is a known component of the ubiquinol-cytochrome c oxidoreductase, a multisubunit transmembrane complex that is part of the mitochondrial electron transport chain which drives oxidative phosphorylation. Canonically, it has an amino acid length of 111 residues and a mass of 13.5 kilodaltons. Its subcellular localization is in the mitochondria and it is widely expressed in many tissue types. The UQBP protein is a member of the UQCRB/QCR7 protein family. Other alias names for UQBP include MC3DN3, QCR7, and QP-C.
