Anti-TOC antibodies are used in antigen-specific immunodetection in biological samples. The target TOC is a known alias name of the protein rhomboid 5 homolog 2, encoded by the RHBDF2 gene in humans. This 856-amino acid residue protein is reported to regulate ADAM17 protease, a sheddase of the epidermal growth factor (EGF) receptor ligands and TNF, thereby plays a role in sleep, cell survival, proliferation, migration and inflammation. It is localized to the ER and cell membrane of the cell.
