Anti-SIGLEC4A antibodies are used in antigen-specific immunodetection in biological samples. The target SIGLEC4A is a known alias name of the protein myelin associated glycoprotein, encoded by the MAG gene in humans. This 626-amino acid residue protein is reported to be an adhesion molecule that mediates interactions between myelinating cells and neurons by binding to neuronal sialic acid-containing gangliosides and to the glycoproteins RTN4R and RTN4RL2 (By similarity). It is localized to the cell membrane of the cell and features N-glycosylated, ubiquitinated and phosphorylated post-translational modifications. It is reported to be expressed in the testis, placenta, cerebral cortex, and cerebellum. Other synonyms for SIGLEC4A include GMA, GMA, and S-MAG. Western Blot is a widely used application for the SIGLEC4A antibodies listed below. In addition, ELISA is also a common application.
