Anti-PLB/LIP antibodies enable researchers to detect and measure the PLB/LIP antigen in biological samples. This target is a reported synonym of the PLB1 gene, which encodes phospholipase B1. This protein is known to function in the metabolism of lipids, among other biological roles. The human version of PLB/LIP has a canonical amino acid length of 1458 residues and a protein mass of 163.1 kilodaltons, although 5 isoforms have been identified. It is reported to be localized in the cell membrane of cells. PLB/LIP is a member of the GDSL' lipolytic enzyme protein family.
