Anti-ORF1-FL1 antibodies enable researchers to detect and measure the ORF1-FL1 antigen in biological samples. This target is a reported synonym of the EMC7 gene, which encodes ER membrane protein complex subunit 7. This protein is known to be a part of the endoplasmic reticulum membrane protein complex (EMC) that enables the energy-independent insertion into endoplasmic reticulum membranes of newly synthesized membrane proteins. The human version of ORF1-FL1 has a canonical amino acid length of 242 residues and a protein mass of 26.5 kilodaltons. It is reported to be localized in the ER of cells and widely expressed in many tissue types. ORF1-FL1 is a member of the EMC7 protein family.
