Anti-SPG18 antibodies are used in antigen-specific immunodetection in biological samples. The target SPG18 is a known alias name of the protein ER lipid raft associated 2, encoded by the ERLIN2 gene in humans. This 339-amino acid residue protein is a known component of the ERLIN1/ERLIN2 complex which mediates the endoplasmic reticulum-associated degradation (ERAD) of inositol 1,4,5-trisphosphate receptors (IP3Rs) such as ITPR1. It is localized to the ER of the cell and features glycosylated post-translational modifications. In terms of tissue expression, it is ubiquitously expressed across many tissue types.
