Anti-TMEM240 antibodies are used in the immunodetection of the protein transmembrane protein 240. In humans, the canonical protein has a reported length of 173 amino acid residues and a mass of 19.9 kDa. Its subcellular localization is in the cell membrane. It is notably expressed in the small intestine, duodenum, colon, cerebellum, and caudate. It is a member of the TMEM240 protein family. The TMEM240 gene has been associated with the disease, Spinocerebellar ataxia. Synonyms for this target antigen include transmembrane protein C1orf70. TMEM240 gene orthologs have been reported in the mouse, rat, bovine, frog, chimpanzee and chicken species. Immunofluorescence is the most common application for the TMEM240 antibodies listed below. Immunocytochemistry and Immunohistochemistry are also common applications.
