Anti-ROM antibodies are protein reagents that detect specific antigens. The ROM antigen is another term for the human protein retinal outer segment membrane protein 1, encoded by the ROM1 gene. The protein is reported to play a role in rod outer segment (ROS) morphogenesis (By similarity). Canonically, it has an amino acid length of 351 residues and a mass of 37.2 kilodaltons. It is expressed in the retina. The ROM protein is a member of the PRPH2/ROM1 protein family.
