Anti-PIPK antibodies enable researchers to detect and measure the PIPK antigen in biological samples. This target is a reported synonym of the PIP4K2A gene, which encodes phosphatidylinositol-5-phosphate 4-kinase type 2 alpha. This protein is known to function in autophagy pathways, among other biological roles. The human version of PIPK has a canonical amino acid length of 406 residues and a protein mass of 46.2 kilodaltons, although 2 isoforms have been identified. It is reported to be localized in the cell membrane, nucleus, lysosomes and cytoplasm of cells and widely expressed in many tissue types. Other names for this target antigen include PI5P4KA, PIP5K2A, and PIP5KII-alpha. Western Blot is the most common application for the PIPK antibodies listed below. ELISA and Immunohistochemistry are also common applications.
