Anti-PL48 antibodies are used in antigen-specific immunodetection in biological samples. The target PL48 is a known alias name of the protein RHO family interacting cell polarization regulator 2, encoded by the RIPOR2 gene in humans. This 1068-amino acid residue protein is known to act as a inhibitor of the small GTPase RHOA and plays several roles in the regulation of myoblast and hair cell differentiation, lymphocyte T proliferation and neutrophil polarization. It is localized to the cell membrane and cytoplasm of the cell and features acetylated and phosphorylated post-translational modifications. In terms of tissue expression, it is reported to be expressed in primary fetal mononuclear myoblast. Other synonyms for PL48 include C6orf32, DFNA21, and DFNB104.
