Anti-PPKS1 antibodies enable researchers to detect and measure the PPKS1 antigen in biological samples. This target is a reported synonym of the DSG1 gene, which encodes desmoglein 1. This protein is known to function in cell adhesion and protein stabilization, among other biological roles. The human version of PPKS1 has a canonical amino acid length of 1049 residues and a protein mass of 113.7 kilodaltons, although 2 isoforms have been identified. It is reported to be localized in the cell membrane, nucleus, and cytoplasm of cells and notably expressed in the vagina, skin, oral mucosa, esophagus, and cervix. Other names for this target antigen include CDHF4, DG1, and DSG. Western Blot is the most common application for the PPKS1 antibodies listed below. ELISA and Immunohistochemistry are also common applications.
