Anti-onzin antibodies are protein reagents that detect specific antigens. The onzin antigen is another term for the human protein placenta associated 8, encoded by the PLAC8 gene. The protein is known to function in brown fat cell differentiation and the regulation of apoptosis, among other biological roles. Canonically, it has an amino acid length of 115 residues and a mass of 12.5 kilodaltons. and it is notably expressed at high levels in plasmacytoid dendritic cells. The onzin protein is a member of the Cornifelin protein family. Other alias names for onzin include C15, DGIC, and PNAS-144.
