Anti-PKU antibodies enable researchers to detect and measure the PKU antigen in biological samples. This target is a reported synonym of the PAH gene, which encodes phenylalanine hydroxylase. This protein is known to catalyze the hydroxylation of L-phenylalanine to L-tyrosine. The human version of PKU has a canonical amino acid length of 452 residues and a protein mass of 51.9 kilodaltons. It is reported to be notably expressed in the testis, liver, kidney, and gallbladder. Other names for this target antigen include PH and PKU1. Indicated applications for PKU antibodies listed below include ELISA, Western Blot, and Immunohistochemistry.
