Anti-MTO2 antibodies enable researchers to detect and measure the MTO2 antigen in biological samples. This target is a reported synonym of the TRMU gene, which encodes tRNA mitochondrial 2-thiouridylase. This protein is known to catalyze the 2-thiolation of uridine at the wobble position (U34) of mitochondrial tRNA(Lys), tRNA(Glu) and tRNA(Gln). The human version of MTO2 has a canonical amino acid length of 421 residues and a protein mass of 47.7 kilodaltons, although 5 isoforms have been identified. It is reported to be localized in the mitochondria of cells. MTO2 is a member of the MnmA/TRMU protein family. Indicated applications for MTO2 antibodies listed below include ELISA and Western Blot.
