Anti-mitochondria-localized glutamic acid-rich protein antibodies are used in antigen-specific immunodetection in biological samples. The target mitochondria-localized glutamic acid-rich protein is a known alias name of the protein mitochondria localized glutamic acid rich protein, encoded by the MGARP gene in humans. This 240-amino acid residue protein is reported to play a role in the trafficking of mitochondria along microtubules. It is localized to the mitochondria of the cell. In terms of tissue expression, it is reported to be expressed in the brain, adrenal gland and corneal endothelium (CE).
