Anti-MIO10 antibodies enable researchers to detect and measure the MIO10 antigen in biological samples. This target is a reported synonym of the MICOS10 gene, which encodes mitochondrial contact site and cristae organizing system subunit 10. This protein is a known component of the MICOS complex, a large protein complex of the mitochondrial inner membrane that plays crucial roles in the maintenance of crista junctions, inner membrane architecture, and formation of contact sites to the outer membrane. The human version of MIO10 has a canonical amino acid length of 78 residues and a protein mass of 8.8 kilodaltons, although 2 isoforms have been identified. It is reported to be localized in the mitochondria of cells and widely expressed in many tissue types. MIO10 is a member of the MICOS complex subunit Mic10 protein family.
