Anti-epithelin antibodies are protein reagents that detect specific antigens. The epithelin antigen is another term for the human protein granulin precursor, encoded by the GRN gene. The protein is reported to be a secreted protein that acts as a key regulator of lysosomal function and as a growth factor involved in inflammation, wound healing and cell proliferation. Canonically, it has an amino acid length of 593 residues and a mass of 63.5 kilodaltons. Its subcellular localization is in the lysosomes and is secreted. The epithelin protein is a member of the Granulin protein family. Other alias names for epithelin include CLN11, GEP, and GP88. Western Blot is the most common application for the epithelin antibodies listed below. ELISA, Immunocytochemistry, and Immunohistochemistry are also common applications.
