Anti-L-PGDS antibodies are used in antigen-specific immunodetection in biological samples. The target L-PGDS is a known alias name of the protein prostaglandin D2 synthase, encoded by the PTGDS gene in humans. This 190-amino acid residue protein is known to catalyze the conversion of PGH2 to PGD2, a prostaglandin involved in smooth muscle contraction/relaxation and a potent inhibitor of platelet aggregation. It is localized to the nucleus, ER, Golgi, cytoplasm, and is secreted of the cell and features O-glycosylated and N-glycosylated post-translational modifications. In terms of tissue expression, it is notably expressed in the brain and CNS, where it is expressed in tissues of the blood-brain barrier and secreted into the cerebro-spinal fluid. Indicated applications for L-PGDS antibodies listed below include ELISA, Western Blot, and Immunohistochemistry.
