Anti-HPTTG antibodies are protein reagents that detect specific antigens. The HPTTG antigen is another term for the human protein PTTG1 regulator of sister chromatid separation, securin, encoded by the PTTG1 gene. The protein is reported to be a regulatory protein, which plays a central role in chromosome stability, in the p53/TP53 pathway, and DNA repair. Canonically, it has an amino acid length of 202 residues and a mass of 22 kilodaltons. Its subcellular localization is in the nucleus and cytoplasm and it is reported to be expressed at low level in most tissues, except in adult testis, where it is highly expressed. The HPTTG protein is a member of the Securin protein family. Other alias names for HPTTG include EAP1 and ECRAR.
