Anti-CTE-IIa antibodies are used in antigen-specific immunodetection in biological samples. The target CTE-IIa is a known alias name of the protein acyl-CoA thioesterase 7, encoded by the ACOT7 gene in humans. This 380-amino acid residue protein is known to catalyze the hydrolysis of acyl-CoAs into free fatty acids and coenzyme A (CoASH), regulating their respective intracellular levels. It is localized to the mitochondria and cytoplasm of the cell. It is reported to be expressed in many tissues, such as the caudate and cerebellum. Other synonyms for CTE-IIa include ACH1, ACH1, and ACT.
