Anti-AG1 antibodies are used in antigen-specific immunodetection in biological samples. The target AG1 is a known alias name of the protein thioredoxin domain containing 12, encoded by the TXNDC12 gene in humans. This 172-amino acid residue protein is reported to be a protein-disulfide reductase of the endoplasmic reticulum that promotes disulfide bond formation in client proteins through its thiol-disulfide oxidase activity. It is localized to the ER of the cell. In terms of tissue expression, it is widely expressed across many tissue types.
