Anti-C9orf42 antibodies are used in antigen-specific immunodetection in biological samples. The target C9orf42 is a known alias name of the protein PP2A Aalpha (PPP2R1A) and B55A (PPP2R2A) interacting phosphatase regulator 1, encoded by the PABIR1 gene in humans. This 287-amino acid residue protein is known to act as a inhibitor of serine/threonine-protein phosphatase 2A (PP2A) activity. It is localized to the nucleus and cytoplasm of the cell and features phosphorylated post-translational modifications. It is reported to be widely expressed in many tissue types.
