Anti-DCOH antibodies enable researchers to detect and measure the DCOH antigen in biological samples. This target is a reported synonym of the PCBD1 gene, which encodes pterin-4 alpha-carbinolamine dehydratase 1. This protein is known to be involved in tetrahydrobiopterin biosynthesis (By similarity). The human version of DCOH has a canonical amino acid length of 104 residues and a protein mass of 12 kilodaltons. It is reported to be localized in the nucleus and cytoplasm of cells and notably expressed in many tissues, such as the appendix, urinary bladder, and adrenal gland. Other names for this target antigen include PCBD and PCD.
