Anti-DCHS1 antibodies are used in the immunodetection of the protein dachsous cadherin-related 1. In humans, the canonical protein has a reported length of 3298 amino acid residues and a mass of 346.2 kDa. Its subcellular localization is in the cell membrane. It is reported to be expressed in fibroblasts but not in melanocytes or keratinocytes. DCHS1 is known to be involved with cell adhesion. Post-translational modifications have been described, including glycosylation. The DCHS1 gene has been associated with the disease, Van Maldergem syndrome. Synonyms for this target antigen include CDH25, CDHR6, FIB1, MMVP2, MVP2, PCDH16, VMLDS1, and CDH19. DCHS1 gene orthologs have been reported in the mouse, rat, bovine, frog, zebrafish, chimpanzee and chicken species. Some DCHS1 antibodies may have been used in research and have associated citations. ELISA is a widely used application for these antibodies. In addition, Western Blot is also a common application.
