Anti-CW-1 antibodies are used in antigen-specific immunodetection in biological samples. The target CW-1 is a known alias name of the protein dynein light chain Tctex-type 1, encoded by the DYNLT1 gene in humans. This 113-amino acid residue protein is known to act as one of several non-catalytic accessory components of the cytoplasmic dynein 1 complex that are thought to be involved in linking dynein to cargos and to adapter proteins that regulate dynein function. It is localized to the Golgi and cytoplasm of the cell and features phosphorylated post-translational modifications. In terms of tissue expression, it is found to be expressed in the heart, placenta, skeletal muscle kidney, pancreas, spleen, prostate, testis, ovary, ileum and colon. The term TCTEL1 is another synonym for CW-1.
