Anti-COX-VA antibodies are protein reagents that detect specific antigens. The COX-VA antigen is another term for the human protein cytochrome c oxidase subunit 5A, encoded by the COX5A gene. The protein is a known component of the cytochrome c oxidase, the last enzyme in the mitochondrial electron transport chain which drives oxidative phosphorylation. Canonically, it has an amino acid length of 150 residues and a mass of 16.8 kilodaltons. Its subcellular localization is in the mitochondria and it is widely expressed in many tissue types. The COX-VA protein is a member of the Cytochrome c oxidase subunit 5A protein family. Other alias names for COX-VA include COX and MC4DN20. Western Blot is the most common application for the COX-VA antibodies listed below. ELISA and Immunohistochemistry are also common applications.
