Anti-COA3 antibodies are used in the immunodetection of the protein cytochrome c oxidase assembly factor 3. In humans, the canonical protein has a reported length of 106 amino acid residues and a mass of 11.7 kDa. Its subcellular localization is in the mitochondria. It is notably widely expressed in many tissue types. A member of the COA3 protein family, COA3 is an important component of the MITRAC (mitochondrial translation regulation assembly intermediate of cytochrome c oxidase complex) complex, that regulates cytochrome c oxidase assembly. The COA3 gene has been associated with the disease, Mitochondrial complex IV deficiency. Synonyms for this target antigen include COX25, HSPC009, MC4DN14, MITRAC12, hCOA3, and CCDC56. COA3 gene orthologs have been reported in the mouse, rat, bovine, frog, zebrafish, chimpanzee and chicken species. Immunofluorescence is the most common application for the COA3 antibodies listed below. Western Blot, Immunocytochemistry, and Immunohistochemistry are also common applications.
