Anti-CACNA2D antibodies enable researchers to detect and measure the CACNA2D antigen in biological samples. This target is a reported synonym of the CACNA2D2 gene, which encodes calcium voltage-gated channel auxiliary subunit alpha2delta 2. This protein is known to function in the transport of ions, among other biological roles. The human version of CACNA2D has a canonical amino acid length of 1150 residues and a protein mass of 129.8 kilodaltons, although 5 isoforms have been identified. It is reported to be localized in the membrane of cells and notably expressed in the lung, cerebellum, and caudate. Other names for this target antigen include CASVDD and voltage-dependent calcium channel subunit alpha-2/delta-2.
