Anti-COX14 antibodies are used in the immunodetection of the protein cytochrome c oxidase assembly factor COX14. In humans, the canonical protein has a reported length of 57 amino acid residues and a mass of 6.6 kDa. Its subcellular localization is in the mitochondria. It is notably expressed in many tissues, such as the fallopian tube, testis, and adrenal gland. COX14 is an important component of the MITRAC (mitochondrial translation regulation assembly intermediate of cytochrome c oxidase complex) complex, that regulates cytochrome c oxidase assembly. The COX14 gene has been associated with the disease, Mitochondrial complex IV deficiency. Synonyms for this target antigen include COX14 cytochrome c oxidase assembly homolog, COX14, cytochrome c oxidase assembly factor, cytochrome c oxidase assembly homolog 14, and cytochrome c oxidase assembly protein COX14. COX14 gene orthologs have been reported in the mouse, rat, bovine, frog, zebrafish, chimpanzee and chicken species. Flow Cytometry, Western Blot, Immunocytochemistry, Immunofluorescence, and Immunohistochemistry are common applications for COX14 antibodies.
