Anti-acyl-CoA oxidase 1, palmitoyl antibodies are protein reagents that detect specific antigens. The acyl-CoA oxidase 1, palmitoyl antigen is another term for the human protein acyl-CoA oxidase 1, encoded by the ACOX1 gene. The protein is reported to be involved in initial and rate-limiting step of peroxisomal beta-oxidation of straight-chain saturated and unsaturated very-long-chain fatty acids. Canonically, it has an amino acid length of 660 residues and a mass of 74.4 kilodaltons. Its subcellular localization is in the peroxisomes and it is reported to be widely expressed with highest levels of isoform 1 and isoform 2 detected in testis. The acyl-CoA oxidase 1, palmitoyl protein is a member of the Acyl-CoA oxidase protein family. Other alias names for acyl-CoA oxidase 1, palmitoyl include ACOX, AOX, and MITCH.
