Anti-Bestrophin-1 antibodies are directed against the protein encoded by the gene BEST1 in humans. The bestrophin-1 protein has an expected mass of 67.7 kDa, but there are 3 reported isoforms. The protein may also be known as ARB, BMD, Best1V1Delta2, Best disease, and vitelliform macular dystrophy protein 2. Variants of this antigen may also be found in other species, including fly, canine, porcine, monkey, mouse and rat.
