Anti-Epipin antibodies enable researchers to detect and measure the Epipin antigen in biological samples. This target is a reported synonym of the SERPINB11 gene, which encodes serpin family B member 11. This protein is known to have no serine protease inhibitory activity, probably due to mutations in the scaffold impairing conformational change. The human version of Epipin has a canonical amino acid length of 392 residues and a protein mass of 44.1 kilodaltons, although 3 isoforms have been identified. It is reported to be localized in the cytoplasm of cells. Epipin is a member of the Serpin protein family.
