Anti-ISG12a antibodies enable researchers to detect and measure the ISG12a antigen in biological samples. This target is a reported synonym of the IFI27 gene, which encodes interferon alpha inducible protein 27. This protein is known to function in the apoptotic pathway and viral immune response, among other biological roles. The human version of ISG12a has a canonical amino acid length of 122 residues and a protein mass of 11.5 kilodaltons, although 4 isoforms have been identified. It is reported to be localized in the nucleus, ER, and mitochondria of cells. ISG12a is a member of the IFI6/IFI27 protein family.
