Anti-HRCA1 antibodies are used in antigen-specific immunodetection in biological samples. The target HRCA1 is a known alias name of the protein von Hippel-Lindau tumor suppressor, encoded by the VHL gene in humans. This 213-amino acid residue protein is reported to be involved in ubiquitination and subsequent proteasomal degradation via the von Hippel-Lindau ubiquitination complex. It is localized to the cell membrane, nucleus, and cytoplasm of the cell. In terms of tissue expression, it is reported to be expressed in the adult and fetal brain and kidney.
