Anti-BSPH1 antibodies are used in the immunodetection of the protein binder of sperm protein homolog 1. In humans, the canonical protein has a reported length of 132 amino acid residues and a mass of 15.7 kDa. It has been described to be a secreted protein. It is found to be preferentially expressed in the epididymis. A member of the Seminal plasma protein family, BSPH1 is known to bind sperm in vitro and promotes sperm capacitation. Post-translational modifications have been described, including glycosylation. Synonyms for this target antigen include bovine seminal plasma protein homolog 1, bovine seminal plasma protein-like 1, epididymal sperm binding protein 2, and binder of sperm 1. BSPH1 gene orthologs have been reported in the mouse, rat and chimpanzee species. Indicated applications for BSPH1 antibodies listed below include Immunohistochemistry.
