Anti-BFZB antibodies enable researchers to detect and measure the BFZB antigen in biological samples. This target is a reported synonym of the UQCC1 gene, which encodes ubiquinol-cytochrome c reductase complex assembly factor 1. This protein is known to be required for the assembly of the ubiquinol-cytochrome c reductase complex (mitochondrial respiratory chain complex III or cytochrome b-c1 complex). The human version of BFZB has a canonical amino acid length of 299 residues and a protein mass of 34.6 kilodaltons, although 5 isoforms have been identified. It is reported to be localized in the cytoplasmic vesicles and mitochondria of cells and widely expressed in many tissue types. Other names for this target antigen include C20orf44 and CBP3.
