Anti-MRP-S2 antibodies enable researchers to detect and measure the MRP-S2 antigen in biological samples. This target is a reported synonym of the MRPS2 gene, which encodes mitochondrial ribosomal protein S2. This protein is known to function in mitochondrial translation, among other biological roles. The human version of MRP-S2 has a canonical amino acid length of 296 residues and a protein mass of 33.2 kilodaltons. It is reported to be localized in the mitochondria of cells and widely expressed in many tissue types. MRP-S2 is a member of the Universal ribosomal protein uS2 protein family.
