Anti-TMEM10 antibodies enable researchers to detect and measure the TMEM10 antigen in biological samples. This target is a reported synonym of the OPALIN gene, which encodes oligodendrocytic myelin paranodal and inner loop protein. This protein is known to function in regulation of oligodendrocyte differentiation, among other biological roles. The human version of TMEM10 has a canonical amino acid length of 141 residues and a protein mass of 15.7 kilodaltons, although 4 isoforms have been identified. It is reported to be localized in the cell membrane of cells and notably expressed in the hippocampus, cerebral cortex, cerebellum, and caudate.
