Anti-tax antibodies are used in antigen-specific immunodetection in biological samples. The target tax is a known alias name of the protein contactin 2, encoded by the CNTN2 gene in humans. This 1040-amino acid residue protein is known to be involved in axon guidance and cell adhesion, among other biological processes. It is localized to the cell membrane of the cell and features glycosylated post-translational modifications. It is reported to be expressed in the cerebellum and cerebral cortex. Other synonyms for tax include AXT, FAME5, and TAG-1. Western Blot is the most common application for the tax antibodies listed below. ELISA and Immunohistochemistry are also common applications.
