Anti-Arresten antibodies enable researchers to detect and measure the Arresten antigen in biological samples. This target is a reported synonym of the COL4A1 gene, which encodes collagen type IV alpha 1 chain. This protein is known to function in brain development and epithelial cell differentiation, among other biological roles. The human version of Arresten has a canonical amino acid length of 1669 residues and a protein mass of 160.6 kilodaltons, although 2 isoforms have been identified. It is reported to be localized in the extracellular matrix and is secreted of cells and notably expressed in the skin, heart muscle, colon, cerebral cortex, and adipose tissue. Other names for this target antigen include BSVD, BSVD1, and COL4A1s. A number of Arresten antibodies have been mentioned in research publications and have associated citations. ELISA, Western Blot, and Immunohistochemistry are common applications for these antibodies.
