Anti-DJBP antibodies enable researchers to detect and measure the DJBP antigen in biological samples. This target is a reported synonym of the EFCAB6 gene, which encodes EF-hand calcium binding domain 6. This protein is reported to negatively regulate the androgen receptor by recruiting histone deacetylase complex, and protein DJ-1 antagonizes this inhibition by abrogation of this complex. The human version of DJBP has a canonical amino acid length of 1501 residues and a protein mass of 172.9 kilodaltons, although 6 isoforms have been identified. It is reported to be localized in the nucleus and cytoplasm of cells.
