Anti-TIAM1 antibodies are used in the immunodetection of the protein TIAM Rac1 associated GEF 1. In humans, the canonical protein has a reported length of 1591 amino acid residues and a mass of 177.5 kDa. Its subcellular localization is in the cell membrane. Up to 2 different isoforms have been reported for this protein. It is notably widely expressed in many tissue types. A member of the TIAM protein family, TIAM1 is known to be involved with GTPase activation and cell migration. Post-translational modifications have been described, including ubiquitination. The TIAM1 gene has been associated with the disease, Neurodevelopmental disorder with language delay and seizures. Synonyms for this target antigen include rho guanine nucleotide exchange factor TIAM1, T cell lymphoma invasion and metastasis 1, T-lymphoma invasion and metastasis-inducing protein 1, and NEDLDS. TIAM1 gene orthologs have been reported in the mouse, rat, bovine, frog, chimpanzee and chicken species.
