Anti-POLG1 antibodies are protein reagents that detect specific antigens. The POLG1 antigen is another term for the human protein DNA polymerase gamma, catalytic subunit, encoded by the POLG gene. The protein is reported to be involved in replication of mitochondrial DNA. Canonically, it has an amino acid length of 1239 residues and a mass of 139.6 kilodaltons. Its subcellular localization is in the mitochondria and it is widely expressed in many tissue types. The POLG1 protein is a member of the DNA polymerase type-A protein family. Other alias names for POLG1 include MDP1, MIRAS, and MTDPS4A.
