Anti-CGI-51 antibodies are used in antigen-specific immunodetection in biological samples. The target CGI-51 is a known alias name of the protein SAMM50 sorting and assembly machinery component, encoded by the SAMM50 gene in humans. This 469-amino acid residue protein is reported to play a crucial role in the maintenance of the structure of mitochondrial cristae and the proper assembly of the mitochondrial respiratory chain complexes. It is localized to the mitochondria and cytoplasm of the cell. It is reported to be widely expressed in many tissue types. The term OMP85 is another synonym for CGI-51. Western Blot is the most common application for the CGI-51 antibodies listed below. ELISA and Immunohistochemistry are also common applications.
