Anti-mitochondrial dicarboxylate carrier antibodies are used in antigen-specific immunodetection in biological samples. The target mitochondrial dicarboxylate carrier is a known alias name of the protein solute carrier family 25 member 10, encoded by the SLC25A10 gene in humans. This 287-amino acid residue protein is known to catalyze the electroneutral exchange or flux of physiologically important metabolites such as dicarboxylates (malonate, malate, succinate), inorganic sulfur-containing anions, and phosphate, across mitochondrial inner membrane. It is localized to the mitochondria of the cell. It is reported to be widely expressed in many tissue types. Other synonyms for mitochondrial dicarboxylate carrier include DIC, DIC, and MTDPS19.
