Anti-GI24 antibodies are used in antigen-specific immunodetection in biological samples. The target GI24 is a known alias name of the protein V-set immunoregulatory receptor, encoded by the VSIR gene in humans. This 311-amino acid residue protein is reported to be an immunoregulatory receptor, which inhibits the T-cell response. It is localized to the cell membrane of the cell and features N-glycosylated and cleaved post-translational modifications. In terms of tissue expression, it is notably expressed in spleen.
