Anti-GGTA1 antibodies are used in the immunodetection of the protein glycoprotein alpha-galactosyltransferase 1 (inactive). In humans, the canonical protein has a reported length of 100 amino acid residues and a mass of 11.6 kDa. Its subcellular localization is in the Golgi. It is notably widely expressed in many tissue types. It is a member of the Glycosyltransferase 6 protein family. Synonyms for this target antigen include GGTA1P, GLYT2, a1/3GTP, inactive N-acetyllactosaminide alpha-1,3-galactosyltransferase, glycoprotein alpha-galactosyltransferase 1, pseudogene, and GGTA. GGTA1 gene orthologs have been reported in the mouse, rat and chimpanzee species.
