Anti-VAMP-1 antibodies are used in antigen-specific immunodetection in biological samples. The target VAMP-1 is a known alias name of the protein vesicle associated membrane protein 1, encoded by the VAMP1 gene in humans. This 118-amino acid residue protein is reported to be involved in targeting and/or fusion of transport vesicles to their target membrane. It is localized to the cytoplasmic vesicles and mitochondria of the cell. It is reported to be expressed in many tissues, such as the cerebellum and cerebral cortex.
